Feingold And Reid Raise The Stakes

The Carpetbagger Report

Since President Bush has made it painfully clear that he has no intention of fixing his failed Iraq policy, it is no longer a question of if Congress will end this war; it is a question of when...

The showdown over war funding between Congress and the White House is already ugly. Dems have passed a spending bill with a withdrawal timeline, while Bush prefers an open-ended commitment to fighting in Iraq’s civil war indefinitely. Because lawmakers refused to go along with the president’s demand for condition-free money, a veto is now all but inevitable.

The question, at that point, will be what congressional Dems plan to do about it. Sen. Russ Feingold (D-Wis.) announced this morning that he and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) will unveil a measure when the Senate reconvenes next week that the White House really isn’t going to like.

  1. Looks like sh*t is gonna hit the big fan next week! Pelosi's trip to Syria will more than likely have a significant impact on this too!

  2. If Russ Feingold likes it and Bush doesn't, I definitely know which side I'm on.

This president has painted himself into a corner; with nothing other than a war to show for his time in office he has no choice but to continue on his chaotic path.

Next up Repub scandal - did anyone see the 60 Minutes report on the Medicare Drug bill?

  3. Cool post

I can scroll down so I don't have to look at dumbya, go on a magic carpet ride, and watch a real sky pilot...All while reading the Drudge Report. Im sure that Nancy will get a better reception than Duubya or any of his staff. She might even do some unscripted communication with the people of Syria....( :

That magic carpet ride looked like a lot of fun, didn't it? ;)

Nancy strikes me as a lady that is respectful of others and a great communicator! :)
