Bob Dylan wrote it in 1965. his name was Robert Zimmerman, but he called himself Bobby Dylan after the poet Dylan Thomas. I seen him in concert in Berkley CA around that time. It at was at a small hall on the Berkley campus. Joan Baez was sitting two rows ahead of us. At that time some called him "the prophet" and some called him "the poet".
