The Senate overwhelmingly passed S. 214 today, 94-2!
This Bill bans the Attorney General from replacing Federal Attorneys without Senate oversight/approval, a sneaky little measure that was slipped into the Patriot Act so that Abu Gonzo and the Shrub could once again, circumvent accountability and subvert Senate authority.
Think they might be getting the message? Or does the Senate just want their own power back?

Well, I think it's a start but it may not go far enough..
The right thing to do would be to repeal Patriot(misnamed) Act which will empower the Constitution once again.
But this will have to occur after the American people drain the rest of the swamp now entrenched in office come Nov 2008.
Good! About time the Senate gets their act together!
The 109th Rubber-Stamping Congress was a joke and did nothing good for this country..they were merely Bush butt kissers!
Yes, drain that swamp! :)

Btw...Great post! :)
By the way, with a vote of 94-2, it showed HUGE bipartisan support. I was puzzled though that Chuck Hagel voted against it...even Kyl went along. I think more than anything that they saw the power of the SENATE eroded...
Basheert:
Yeah, what's up with Kyl? Is he afraid of something...like getting recalled like we're doing with McCain? LOLMAO
I have some doubts about the overall constitutionality of that. I mean, the Senate may be interfering too much w/the executive branch's duty to enforce the laws. This may be headed for trouble down the road on a separation of powers issue. I'll try to think about this some more.

They changed it back to the way it was before they slipped it into the Patriot Act. I think this whole scandal wouldn't have happened..had that law not been changed to allow it! ;)
Hmmm . . . I'm gonna look into this. Still seems odd.

Please let me know what you come up with! ;)
